Hello Boris's people

It's me, Maggie the dog popping in to let you know how things are here on the homestead.

Well, I am a big girl now, I am 3!  I am a very good girl too and I love my people to bits and they love me.  I am always getting lots of hugs and rubs and kisses from Mum and Papa Bear.

It has been very, very hot here so we don't get so much outside time as we would like but if they are outside, then I am outside too.  We do everything together me and my people except when Papa Bear has to go to the hospital and it is too hot for me to go with them.

Then I have to go to the vet's boarding kennels.  I don't much like going there!!!!  I am a bit of a pesty on the leash as I pull a lot but I can tell you that when I go there it is them pulling me.  Mind you, they can't hold on to me when Mum comes to pick me up, I am outta there like a shot!  It just isn't home and sometimes there are noisy doggies there who bark and whine a lot.

Not like me, I hardly ever bark, only when someone comes to the house or a car gets too close behind us when we are out in van.

The people at the vets are nice and take good care of me and like me (well most of them do, there is ONE girl who doesn't much like me and I don't know why, I am such a sweetie. It must be true cos MY people say it all the time). She takes good care of me, just doesn't like me much. Another one though says I am her favourite so you know which one I like best!

We have had a lot of storms lately and I don't like them at all, I get scared.  Mum and Papa Bear always hold me and they got me a jacket thingy to put on when it storms to make me feel better.

Oh, I have to tell you I think Mum is going a bit doolally.  She went out to do some shopping and came back with a thingy that looks like a little person.  Papa Bear said it was a doll.  Mum found it in a Thrift store for a dollar and says it will be a model for her to make clothes for my human niece who has one of those human looking little people too. I gave it the sniff test and I can tell you I am not too impressed at all.  Mum spends time with it combing it's hair and stuff, time she could spend with little old me!

And to make matters worse, the next time she went out she found another one of these thingies that looks exactly the same but has longer hair.  Mum says they are twins!  Seriously Mum!  She found it in the same Thrift store for 25 cents as it didn't have any clothes on.  Mum has been busy knitting clothes for these so called twins, time she could spend petting me!

Well, I gotta go cos Papa Bear will be getting up after his nap soon and I have to be ready to get rubs and fusspots from him. At least he doesn't want to knit clothes or comb the hair of the doll twins!

Here I am outside playing with one of my sticks, I am such a sweetie 😉

Oh! and I may have just changed the title of the blog just a little.......

This is Boris's little sister Maggie with some sad news

Hi everyone, my big bro Boris has crossed over the rainbow Bridge.  He had been quite poorly for a while.  He asked me to let all his friends know when he made the trip so I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I miss him, I am like a lost puppy without him.  He was my big bro and took care of me, even if he didn't like to admit it and called me pesky. I know he loved me and I loved him. He took care of us all, he would always bark if something or someone came around.  We all felt safe with Boris.

Mum and Papa Bear are very sad too, he had been with them since he was a young pup.  He was 12 in April so that was a very long time.

I might piggyback on Boris's blog and post once in a while so you lovely folks know how we are doing.

But it will always be 'Boris the Handsomest Dog's' blog cos he was the man!

Me and Maggie are still here folks!

Time I sat myself down and did a blogpost Mum said.........so here goes

First of all, right after Christmas Papa bear and Mum went away to see our human brother and his family which meant us poor dogs had to go to the vet's kennels.  Poor Maggie doesn't like it at all and there was a big old mutt in there this time who was very loud and barky and poor Maggie was frightened.  We couldn't be in the same kennel either at first cos they were all full so I couldn't protect her.  But he left pretty quickly and me and Maggie got our big kennel together and things were OK then.

We were pretty darned happy to see Mum though when they got back and she came to get us.

Mum has started to take us for big walks now.  Usually she would just come outside with us and let us run around but after she got sick she said she needed to get some exercise so we do go for two walks most days now and me and Maggie have so much fun running around and sniffing everything. Mum enjoys it too but she just walks in a straight line and never sniffs anything.  Boring Mum!!!!!

Papa Bear isn't very well and is waiting to see what they are going to do to him at the hospital.  He doesn't do much these days and keeps feeling weak and dizzy.  Mum is hoping they can fix him right up and he will be OK again.

That's about all for now, not the greatest blog post but at least we are all still here and us doggies get lots of loving and fuss pots from Mum and Papa Bear and that's a good thing.

Mum is in a tizzy right now!

Hi everyone,  how ya'll doing?  Me and Maggie are just fine and dandy but Mum is getting in a bit of a tizzy.

It's Christmas time again and she's the same every year.  She worries about getting prezzies for everyone and gets herself all worked up when folks don't give her ideas.

Our English human sister our human nieces and nephews did come through though so she has them all sorted.  Now she just needs to get the others sorted.

I think she needs to stop worrying about them and concentrate on us doggy kids, ya know what I mean!

It's turned really cold here and Papa Bear and Mum decided to light up my favourite fire, the log stove.  They have other sorts of  heating but I just love the log fires.

Here is me warming myself by the fire this morning.

And this is Maggie today too, she is just about as big as me now.  That ain't ribs you can see it's rolls of skin, she is quite the porker..............but please don't tell her I said that.

I have been OK but I did have another funny turn.  It frightened me and I tried to get into bed with Mum.  Now Mum was a bit surprised cos me and Maggie have our own beds in the bedroom and we don't get on their bed.  Mum let me stay on the bed though and gave me some hugs and rubs until I felt better.  Papa Bear was already up so he didn't know I was having a funny turn until it was all over cos Mum wouldn't leave me.

I am good again now.  I don't like it when I feel like that and I know it makes Mum and Papa Bear worry.

Well, it's time for a trip outside and then a nap by the fire so I will catch ya'll later.

And Mum, you had better get on with those Christmas cards, they won't write themselves ya know!!!!!!

I had a boil on me bum!

Imagine the indignity, me, Boris the handsomest dog, had a boil on me bum!  Mum said it was actually an abscess thingy but whatever the name of it, it was flipping painful I can tell ya!

It all swelled up then some nasty gooey stuff came out of it.  Yukky or what!  It hurt so bad I wouldn't let Mum or Papa Bear anywhere near it to clean it.  They got my 'don't you dare touch it' growl.

So Mum took me to the vet and I sure as heck wouldn't let him touch it either so he talked to Mum and they agreed that I would have to be knocked out.  That wasn't so bad as the vet gave me some feel good stuff first which made me feel pretty goofy.

Anyway, when I was knocked out they shaved me bum!!!!  They cleaned it all up too they said and Mum fetched me home late in the afternoon.  I just slept a lot for the rest of the day and night.

The vet gave me some pills to take, antibio something or another.  Well you know I don't like taking pills but Mum has made it easy for me, she wraps them up in a cheese slice and they just pop right down.  The pills seem to be working cos me bum don't hurt anymore and Mum says it looks much better.  Just need the hair to grow back now so I am back to my handsome old self.

Maggie is still here so I guess she is a keeper.  She is so lively compared to me and still thinks I can play like she does but I am an old guy now so she has to play on her own. Her latest thing is to run around like a loony with one of the things that came flying out the caravan when they were taking everything out of it.  It is white and Mum says it is a plumbing fitting but that Maggie thinks it's a great toy.  She throws it around and runs with it.  It's quite funny to watch her.

Papa Bear and Mum have been outside every day working on the caravan thingy.  I can tell you they have worked really hard on it and Mum says it is beginning to take shape at last.  Papa Bear painted it to look like trees and stuff, cam o flaj he calls it.  Sure that's not how you spell it but it's how they say it.  Spelling just ain't my best attribute.

So folks, that's what's been going on here, hope you are all doing great.

Have been a bit under the weather lately!

Hi everyone, Boris the handsomest dog here again.  I haven't been around much cos I ain't been feeling too good.  A couple of times I have had something funny happen and I go all wobbly and my nose loses it's pretty brown colour and I feel just yucky and just have to lay down for a long time.

I think Mum and the Bossman thought I was going to cross over to the Rainbow Bridge but hey I never, I ain't quite ready for that yet.

Right now I am feeling pretty good and have been outside with Mum and Bossman a lot and even did a little bit of running.  I will be glad when it cools off a bit though and I know Mum and Bossman will be happy too when it does. I am eating good too and I am still doing all my business outside so there's still life in the old dog yet.  Hey, that was a pretty clever comment eh? ha ha!

Maggie will be one year old in a week or so, she can still be a bit of a pest sometimes, she wants to chase me and play with me when I just wanna lay down and rest but she has turned into a pretty girl and if I was a bit younger I would be chasing her around instead.

I think Mum and Bossman ain't too worried about that though cos we are both 'fixed' they say, whatever that means!  Think I'd rather not know, ya know what I mean?

Anyway time for a nap so I'll be back another day. I hope this flipping thunder stops soon, it ain't good for an old man like me, makes me jump and wakes me up!

Here I am in my favourite place right in front of Mum's chair and yes! that is the blanket she is still working on.  Geez Mum, it's been nearly a year now since you started it.

See ya soon...............

Woof woof, I'm back and just as handsome as ever and have the photo to prove it!

Hi everyone, missed me huh?

Me and Maggie have been enjoying the nice weather and playing outside a lot more.  Of course it's that time of year when I shed and Mum has to keep brushing me but I don't mind cos I feel so much better afterwards.  That Maggie doesn't get the fluffy stuff I get so she doesn't have to be brushed as much.

So, here it is, the photo of handsome ole me..........

I still got it don't I? Not bad for an old 'un!

Now here is a not so good one of Maggie, Mum says I am mean to put this one up hee hee.

She took another one of her and said I had to put in in here too cos she's a pretty girl. Oh well, if you say so Mum!  I mean, bulldogs just ain't supposed to be pretty but I guess she ain't so bad.

So, Mum has been mowing up a storm and Papa Bear has been doing stuff in the shop so me and him have been hanging out a lot.

I know, I know, it should be Bossman but Papa Bear seems to have stuck since Maggie came along so Papa Bear it is.  Don't think he likes it much either but the girls always get their way don't they?
